Jacob Sherman is an estate planning attorney at Hellmuth & Johnson. He has more than a decade of experience helping clients of all estate sizes comfortably achieve their planning goals. He advises clients on issues of probate avoidance, estate tax planning, business succession with an eye on tax-efficient strategies, and Medical Assistance planning.
His work includes common estate planning instruments such as revocable trusts, wills, health care directives, powers of attorney, and various real estate deeds. He also drafts irrevocable trusts with more specialized purposes, including special needs trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, and others. He also advises families after the death of a loved one on estate administration and probate.
Jacob also has experience forming and advising nonprofit organizations and private foundations, as well as drafting and advising on nonqualified deferred compensation plans for both taxable and tax-exempt organizations.
Jacob graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law and is licensed to practice in Minnesota State Courts.
